On 15.09.2022, Netex was invited to a meeting organized by DWC Banat in Timisoara at Del Corso Events.

The topic of the meeting was the football tournament organized by Ripensia Football Club in collaboration with DWC Banat. Because the invitation was sent to representatives of all the companies that enrolled a team in the game, we had the opportunity to meet each other outside of the football field in a non-competitive atmosphere.

The prominent guests of the evening were the board members of Ripensia Football Club, Mr. Dumitru Mihu, President of the club, and Mr. Erol Baeram, Vice-president of the club. They shared the club’s history and vision for the following years. Ripensia is one of the oldest football clubs in Romania, and many championships and trophies have been won during their activity. Still, listening to their speeches, you could see which achievement they were most proud of – the youth academy!

They started the academy because they wanted to offer kids an alternative to the digital life we all live in. They wanted kids to have a healthier life around outside activities and exercise. And they succeeded. The academy is now “home” for over 400 kids, ages 5 to 17. I had the pleasure of being one of Netex’s representatives at the meeting, not only because I learned the history of a great club and got insights on what it takes to run a football club, but because it reminded me of my technology-free childhood, a childhood I wish for my son also. Now I know where he can have it.
