The DWMS Product Owner is responsible for the vision, strategy, and execution of the self developed Warehouse Management System (WMS) product within the organization. This role involves close collaboration with cross-functional teams, including IT, Operations, Supply Chain, and external vendors, to ensure the WMS product aligns with business goals and delivers optimal functionality and user experience. The Product Owner will prioritize and manage the product backlog, define user stories, and ensure the successful delivery of WMS features that drive efficiency and scalability in warehouse operations.

Required Skills

  • Experience:
    • 5+ years of experience in product management, supply chain management, or IT, with at least 3 years specifically in WMS.
    • Proven track record of successfully delivering complex software products, preferably in a logistics or warehouse environment.
    • Experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies and working in a product owner capacity.
  • Skills:
    • Strong understanding of warehouse operations, logistics, and supply chain management.
    • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
    • Ability to translate business requirements into technical specifications.
    • Proficiency in WMS platforms, ERP systems, and related technologies.
    • Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret data and make informed decisions.
    • Leadership and project management skills, with the ability to drive cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

  • Product Vision & Strategy:
    • Define and communicate the WMS product vision and roadmap in alignment with business objectives.
    • Collaborate with stakeholders to understand their needs and incorporate them into the product strategy.
  • Backlog Management:
    • Own the product backlog, prioritize features, and define user stories with clear acceptance criteria.
    • Collaborate with the development team to refine and plan sprints, ensuring the timely delivery of product increments.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration:
    • Serve as the primary point of contact between business stakeholders and the development team.
    • Gather requirements, feedback, and pain points from warehouse managers, operators, and other users to continuously improve the WMS.
  • Product Development:
    • Oversee the entire product development lifecycle, from ideation through to launch and post-launch support.
  • Performance Monitoring & Optimization:
    • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the success of the WMS and identify areas for improvement.
    • Implement feedback loops to continually gather data and insights from users, using these to drive product enhancements.
  • Vendor Management:
    • Coordinate with third-party vendors and service providers as needed to integrate and maintain the WMS.
    • Negotiate contracts and manage relationships to ensure that external services align with the product vision and requirements.
